Experience 08+ears of experience in production management, preferably in gear and transmission manufacturing.
Location :Rajkot
As a Production Manager in the gear and transmission sector, you are the conductor of a
high-precision orchestra. Your role is to balance the raw power of heavy machinery with the microscopic tolerances required for smooth power transmission. You will oversee everything from raw forging to the finished, heat-treated gear sets.
Core Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities across CNC, VMC, HMC, and Hobbing machines.
Ensure timely delivery of gear and transmission components as per customer requirements.
Optimize machine utilization and reduce downtime.
Oversee gear cutting, machining, and assembly processes.
Implement quality standards (ISO/TS, PPAP, SPC) to achieve zero-defect production.
Troubleshoot machining and gear accuracy issues, including NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) concerns.
Supervise and mentor shop-floor engineers and operators.
Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Conduct training sessions on machine operations and quality practices.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Implement Kaizen, 5S, and TPM practices for operational excellence.
Support new product development and smooth production ramp-up.
Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and statutory compliance.
Monitor consumables, tooling, and equipment usage to maintain efficiency.
Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with CNC, VMC, HMC, and Hobbing machines.
Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes (spur, helical, worm gears).
Familiarity with heat treatment, forging, and transmission assembly.
Leadership & Communication
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage shop-floor operations.
Strong interpersonal skills for coordination with design, quality, and maintenance departments.
